Meet Grace Han, from our Part-time MBA (Bi-Weekly Mode) program intake 2023.

With over 7 years of full-time work experience as a Global Supply Manager at Apple and currently working as an Engineering Program Manager of Product Design, Grace feels the urge to pursue an MBA to further enhance her knowledge in business and management, as well as her leadership skills.

“When I had the idea to pursue an MBA, I wanted to take it in Hong Kong as Hong Kong is a fantastic city with a mixture of Chinese and Western Cultures.”

HOW GRACE HEARD ABOUT HKUST

Grace heard about HKUST through some of her colleagues who had pursued an MBA at HKUST. They strongly recommended the MBA program and HKUST to her. Inspired by their positive experiences and insights, Grace conducted further research and discovered that the HKUST MBA program is consistently ranked as a top program both in Asia and worldwide.

WHY HKUST?

Upon self-reflection, pursuing an MBA has been a natural progression in her career and educational journey.  With nearly a decade of professional experience under her belt, Grace has gained considerable expertise in her field. However, she humbly acknowledges the vastness of the world and yearns to “reopen her eyes and broaden her horizons even further." Pursuing an MBA was her next step towards achieving this goal.

“HKUST MBA program with no doubt, has been famous for its academic rigor, fruitful resources, classmates with diversified background, excellent alumni networks, and strong bonding with excellent corporates across industries. I believe pursuing an MBA from HKUST can help me equip myself with professional knowledge, insights of advanced business, and meeting different fantastic people.”

MOTIVATION TO PURSUE AND STAY COMMITTED TO THE HKUST MBA PROGRAM

For Grace, there are two major aspects that motivate her to stay committed to the HKUST MBA program.

Her first motivation stems from her original aspirations to pursue an MBA. These include advancing both her professional and personal career, studying at a top-ranked MBA program in Asia and Worldwide, learning alongside classmates from diverse backgrounds, expanding her network, and enhancing her business acumen. Additionally, she has been inspired by the success stories shared by her colleagues who have gone through the HKUST MBA program.

Her second factor was “good time management” - “I would well schedule my work, MBA studies, and my personal life, which technically helps me a lot to make things balanced.”

PERSONAL GROWTH AND INITIATIVES THROUGHOUT AND BEYOND THE MBA JOURNEY

During the MBA program, Grace has a proactive approach to involvement and engagement. Grace served as a panelist at a HKUST MBA event, sharing her experiences and insights, thereby inspiring prospective students and enriching the MBA community. Additionally, she plans on providing essential coordination and assistance to help new students seamlessly transition into the program.

After completing the MBA program, Grace plans on continuing her generous support by being an ambassador of the MBA program to prospective students, being involved in alumni reunions and other MBA community-related gatherings, and selflessly contributing back to the MBA community and society whenever she can.

Beyond the scope of the MBA program, Grace is driven to maintain her supportive role and dedication within the MBA community. She envisions herself as an ambassador for the program, offering assistance to future students. Furthermore, she intends to stay actively engaged in alumni reunions and other gatherings within the MBA community. Grace’s commitment goes beyond the confines of the program, as she altruistically pursues opportunities to make contributions to the MBA community and society.
