  2. (For applicants) To process your application to HKUST MBA;
  3. (For work referees) To process your work reference for an HKUST MBA applicant;
  4. To respond to, handle and process any enquiries submitted by you;
  5. For communication purposes, such as sending you updates on the latest HKUST and HKUST MBA program news, inviting you to HKUST events, and conducting marketing research;
  6. To fulfill the above purposes, you may be contacted via email, telephone marketing, SMS or other means that are allowed by local authorities.

 

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website and database, or conducting our business as those parties agree to keep this information confidential.

We may also release your information when we believe doing so is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect our or others’ rights, property or safety. Non-personally identifiable information may be provided to other parties for designing communication campaigns.

If you already have an online application account, you may log in and update your information there. If not, you may request to correct your personal data held by us by sending an email to mba@ust.hk.

What should I do if I think that my personal data protection rights haven’t been respected? (For EU citizens)

If you think your data protection rights have been breached, you can lodge a complaint with your national Data Protection Authority (DPA). The authority investigates and informs you of the progress or outcome of your complaint within 3 months. More information are available on European Commission website.

 

Notice on direct marketing

Occasionally, we may use your personal data, including your name, contact details and all other information collected during or subsequent to initial registration, to send you communications such as email, telephone and SMS containing information on HKUST and HKUST MBA. Categories of the information include:

  1. HKUST or HKUST MBA events;
  2. HKUST or HKUST MBA program updates;
  3. HKUST MBA student or alumni stories;
  4. HKUST MBA program and admissions related articles.

You may indicate your consent to the above by the following ways:

The School will endeavor to deliver the program in accordance with the descriptions in the webpage. However, there may be occasions where it becomes necessary or desirable for changes to be made, either before or after enrolment. The School reserves the right to, with or without prior notice, make changes to the program including, amongst others, the curriculum, structure, schedule, venue, instructors, mode of delivery, or method of assessments. In particular, the School has the discretion to substitute face-to-face teaching with on-line, hybrid or other appropriate mode, where the circumstances so require. In cases of insufficient enrolment or exceptional circumstances, the School reserves the right to cancel or discontinue a program, but every effort will be made to minimize such occurrence. By enrolling in the program, you are deemed to have accepted the above terms.
