Joyce Wang (HKUST Full-Time MBA Intake 2025) spent six years in journalism, learning how to ask better questions, understand context and bring clarity to complex stories. Over time, she felt drawn to a new challenge. As she put it, “I wanted to move from reporting change to being part of creating it.” That realization led her to pursue the HKUST Full Time MBA.
For Joyce, Hong Kong offers a unique vantage point. “Hong Kong has always been the super connector between China and the world,” she says. It is a place where Chinese SMEs can look outward and global markets look inward. At HKUST, Joyce gains global perspectives in class while staying closely connected to the Greater Bay Area, a region she sees as one of the most active hubs for innovation and entrepreneurship.
Her transition from media to strategy is about building stronger business judgment, understanding how ideas flow across markets and learning how to work with stakeholders from different backgrounds. What she values most is the diverse community around her, classmates who challenge her thinking and broaden her understanding.
An MBA is a moment to grow, reflect and discover what you want your next chapter to look like. And for her, HKUST is the place where that chapter begins. Check out Joyce’s sharing now.
